My Client is recruiting for Mechanical/Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer in the Water Sector.

My Client is looking to strengthen their engineering team with a Mechanical, Senior, and/or Principal Mechanical Engineer based at their Bristol offices with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead. Your role will be to provide high-quality Engineering Design services to minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. You will coordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, considering health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and can be constructed and commissioned efficiently, considering all associated costs.
• Utilizing standard practices wherever possible.
• Providing estimates and feedback to the Proposals department.
• Working to and developing procedures and processes to improve departmental efficiency.
• Ensuring design coordination with all disciplines, internal and external, for the benefit of the contract.
• Maintaining files and records throughout contracts.
• Ensuring customer satisfaction and working within a culture that values customer needs.
• Supervising and developing staff.
• Ensuring a safe working environment.
• Minimizing waste from departmental activities.
• Considering environmental issues in designs.
• Ensuring designs adhere to health and safety requirements.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience in delivering process plant systems on complex water industry projects.
• Strong understanding of water and sewage treatment principles.
• Experience managing staff in designing water and sewage treatment plants.
• Membership of a professional institution / chartered status.
• Ability to rationalize designs and produce economical plant layouts.
• Knowledge of all aspects of water treatment, including mechanical, process, electrical engineering, and project management.
• Flexible mindset capable of handling large data sets.
• Ability to present technical proposals clearly and convincingly.
• Experience with digital design on design and construct projects.
• Driving license.
