An opportunity exists for a Mechanical Project Specialist (Career Graded) to join the Council's Corporate Asset and Facilities Management (CAFM) Service and make a positive impact towards delivering these goals.
The Council's CAFM Service manages around 300 buildings, including leisure facilities, office buildings, heritage buildings like Halifax Town Hall, and others. The Facilities Management (FM) Technical Team handles technical resources required for maintenance and development of this property portfolio.
This specialist team acts as an intelligent client, responsible for specifying, commissioning, and managing specialist works, monitoring buildings, planning work programmes, and overseeing capital projects with substantial budgets.
This role offers an ambitious candidate with strong mechanical knowledge the opportunity to develop their skills further. Responsibilities include providing technical advice, monitoring and quality checking mechanical works, managing projects including decarbonisation initiatives, conducting Condition Surveys, and assisting in planning future works aligned with departmental budgets.
Candidates with experience in project management, installation, maintenance, or supervisory roles are encouraged to apply. The career grade allows for further qualifications up to degree level. Qualified Mechanical Project Engineers are also welcome. Knowledge of Condition Surveys and Asset lifecycle modelling is advantageous. A positive attitude and teamwork spirit are essential. The role offers hybrid working, mainly home-based with site visits and meetings across the Borough.
