Mechanical Project Manager
London & Surrounding Areas | £90,000 – £95,000 + Competitive Package
Sector: Commercial, Healthcare, Life Science

We are representing a well-established MEP contractor renowned for delivering exceptional commercial, life science, and healthcare projects throughout London. With a strong pipeline of work and consistent project values ranging between £15M – £30M, they are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their dynamic team.

The Role
As Mechanical Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of complex mechanical installations. Reporting to the Divisional Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing site activity, maintaining project progress, ensuring top-tier standards of installation and compliance, and delivering works within programme and budget. Your leadership will ensure smooth communication between the client, site team, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in pre-construction estimating by extracting equipment schedules from drawings


  • Lead on-site health & safety including inductions, RAMS, toolbox talks and compliance


  • Oversee procurement and timely delivery of materials, equipment, and hire goods


  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and on-site trades


  • Track and report programme progress to the main contractor/client


  • Ensure high standards of installation quality through inspections and check sheets


  • Attend and contribute to site progress meetings


  • Manage testing and commissioning, liaising with specialist contractors


  • Prepare and deliver O&M manuals, as-installed drawings, and building logbooks


  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Divisional Manager


  • Maintain proactive communication with the client, main contractor and wider project team


  • Resolve conflicts and escalate major issues as necessary


  • Manage all site personnel, maintaining morale and productivity


  • Share lessons learned and flag recurring or avoidable issues


  • Liaise with the design team and answer technical queries


  • Oversee specialist installations and develop working knowledge of mechanical systems


    Requirements:

    • Background in Mechanical Engineering or mechanical trade


    • Proven track record in delivering complex projects (Healthcare, Life Sciences, Commercial Fit-Out, Education)


    • Extensive knowledge of procurement processes and contract management


    • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills


    • Client-facing with a collaborative and professional attitude
