Job summary

A leading M&E Contractor in Sunderland is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a substantial mechanical package for a large commercial development. You will manage site teams and subcontractors, coordinate with clients and consultants, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has proven experience in similar roles, a mechanical trade or engineering qualification, and excellent communication skills. This contract role offers competitive daily rates.

Qualifications

  • Background working for an M&E or Mechanical Contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the delivery of the mechanical package on a large commercial project.
  • Manage site teams, supervisors, and mechanical subcontractors.
  • Oversee programme, quality, and health & safety performance.
  • Coordinate design development, technical submissions, and procurement.
  • Work closely with the client, consultants, and internal commercial teams.
  • Manage QA processes, commissioning, and handover documentation.
  • Identify and resolve technical, programme, and delivery risks.
  • Attend progress, design, and client meetings.

My client is a leading M&E Contractor who are currently recruiting a Mechanical Project Manager to deliver a large commercial development in Sunderland. The project involves managing a substantial mechanical package from pre‑construction through to completion.

Mechanical Project Manager Responsibilities:
  • Taking responsibility for the delivery of the mechanical package on a large commercial project.
