Job Description

The Opportunity: Having secured several new contracts, this leading M&E Contractor is recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with strong technical skills and commercial understanding to work with their blue-chip clients in a range of sectors; predominantly MOJ, Hospitals, Educational, and Commercial projects.

Key Duties

1. Negotiating and developing project contracts and agreeing these with clients.
2. Organising and reviewing sub-contractors and suppliers.
3. Working with detailed diagrams, plans, and drawings, and completing all project paperwork.
4. Managing and forecasting spend, ensuring that work is kept to budget.
5. Overseeing installations, and specifying maintenance and operating procedures.
6. Monitoring systems and processes in accordance with the company’s QHS&E requirements, and the requirements of ISO45001, 9001, and 14001.
7. Liaising closely with external and internal project stakeholders.
8. Attending and participating in project meetings.
9. Ensuring that all installations are compliant with HS&E requirements and CDM2015, undertaking checks.
10. Ensuring that all personnel are suitably competent and qualified to be working on projects.
11. Professional written reporting and feedback to the client and the Company, in accordance with required timescales and deadlines.

Additional Duties

1. Estimating & Design.
2. Using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) software and other resources to produce M&E drawings and designs.
3. Participating in any dispute or claim situations, providing evidence and contributing information.
4. Participating in training and development, and workforce consultation activities.
5. Other duties as required – this role frequently demands specific duties particular to an individual project, and the Engineer/Project Manager must remain flexible and responsive.

Person Specification

1. Commercial experience within a Building Services background.
2. Strong project management experience.
3. Excellent knowledge of HS&E best practice.
4. High level of competence using MS Office packages, particularly Excel, Word, and Project.
5. Track record delivering similar projects successfully.
6. Flexible approach to work, including occasionally out-of-hours & project specific requirements.
7. Willing to travel within the UK when required.
8. Motivated, with a reliable work history.
