Job summary

adi Group is seeking a Project Manager to work with the leadership team to deliver mechanical projects on time and within budget. You will evaluate large-scale opportunities and coordinate internal and Group resources to produce compliant, competitive tender submissions.

You will oversee onsite activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to required specifications while coordinating suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to achieve targets.

Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship or ONC/HNC in Mechanical/Process Engineering required.
  • CAD capability to create and maintain engineering drawings.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry is essential.
  • Strong financial and operational management awareness.
  • Good judgement and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience managing customers and stakeholders effectively.
  • Solid Health & Safety management under CDM controls.
  • Proven track record of managing large-budget projects.
  • Experience securing major revenue projects and shaping policy.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and delivering industrial mechanical / M&E / Utilities and Process projects end-to-end.
  • Preparing quotations, securing new work, and driving revenue growth.
  • Overseeing onsite activities to ensure safety, schedule and specifications.
  • Coordinating suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Monitoring budgets, labour, and overall project performance.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships and securing new opportunities.
  • Ensuring installations meet regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Leading project meetings, providing progress updates, resolving issues.
  • Managing project documentation, variations and handover packages.

Location - North West, England

About the Role

As a Project Manager, you will work closely with the leadership team to deliver mechanical projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for evaluating large-scale, complex opportunities and collaborating with the leadership team to identify key revenue streams. This includes coordinating internal and Group resources to produce compliant, competitive, and successful tender submissions.

Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing and delivering industrial mechanical / M&E / Utilities and Process projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Preparing quotations, securing new work, and contributing to ongoing revenue growth.
  • Overseeing onsite activities to ensure all projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required specifications.
  • Coordinating suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitoring budgets, labour resources, and overall project performance to achieve and exceed commercial targets.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships while actively identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Ensuring all mechanical installations meet regulatory requirements, technical drawings, and quality standards.
  • Leading project meetings, providing clear progress updates, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Managing project documentation, variations, and handover packages to a high standard.
About you
We would like to hear from you if you have:
  • A time-served apprenticeship or ONC/HNC in Mechanical / Process Engineering.
  • CAD capability and the ability to produce and maintain engineering drawings.
  • Proven experience within the food and beverage industry (this is essential).
  • Strong financial and operational management awareness.
  • Good judgement, decision-making skills, and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience managing customers and stakeholders effectively.
  • Solid Health & Safety management being able to operate under CDM controls
  • A successful track record of managing large-budget projects in competitive environments.
  • Experience securing major revenue projects and contributing to business strategy and policy development.
