Job summary

Protec Fire Detection is seeking a skilled professional to join our team and lead sprinkler small works installation from enquiry through final accounts. You will work with the small works manager to ensure profitable delivery and maintain rigorous on-site health and safety standards.

The role involves coordinating suppliers and subcontractors, preparing technical reports and handover documents, and travelling within the UK and to European suppliers as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in sprinkler small works installation from enquiry to final accounts.
• Ability to deliver projects profitably with control of purchases and subcontract orders.
• Manage on-site installation, health and safety, progress reports and QA checks.

Responsibilities

• Handle sprinkler small works installation from enquiry through final accounts alongside small works manager.
• Take financial control of projects, including raising purchase and subcontract orders.
• Manage on-site installation, attend client meetings, ensure health and safety, produce progress updates and QA checks.
• Prepare detailed programmes of work to meet deadlines and contract requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers, design teams, engineers and subcontractors for timely delivery and information flow; report to clients and governing bodies.

Job description

This is an opportunity to join a growing diverse team within an expanding sector of the fire industry. Current and forthcoming projects cover public and private sectors; including custodial, healthcare, hotels, retail and residential; and range in value from £10k to £150k+. Projects are located nationwide and a degree of flexibility in working location may be required. Protec cover all travel and accommodation expenses. Training, further qualifications and bonus scheme will be offered to the successful candidate.

Typical Responsibilities

• To expertly handle sprinkler small works installation from initial enquiry through to final accounts working along side the small works manager.
• Assume specific financial control of projects, delivering the works efficiently and profitably, including responsibility for raising purchase and subcontract orders.
• Effectively manage the installation work on site; attending regular client meetings; having responsibility for health and safety; producing progress updates and reports; and completion of project quality assurance checks.
• Prepare and communicate detailed programmes of work to ensure deadlines and contract requirements are met.
• Liaise with suppliers, design, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and information flow, and accurately report to clients, contractors and governing bodies as necessary and reporting into the small works manager.
• Negotiate, produce small works quotations for contract variations with aid of the small works manager.
• Able to prepare technical reports and submittals including operating and maintenance manuals and handover documents, by collating and presenting relevant information.
• Identify and report deviations or nonconformities from scope, Standards or contract.
• Ability to travel within the UK and visit European suppliers as necessary for the role.
• Any other duties commensurate with the role.
