Mechanical Project Engineer – Packaging Up to 60,000 + 5,000 Car Allowance Hybrid – Burton–on–Trent

Are you a Mechanical Project Engineer looking for autonomy, variety, and exposure to high–value capital projects?

We're recruiting for a Packaging–focused Mechanical Project Engineer to join a growing consultancy delivering projects ranging from 250K to 40M. This hybrid role offers a dynamic mix of mechanical design, supplier management, and full project lifecycle delivery – from feasibility through to commissioning.

Industries We Welcome

Candidates from automotive, pharmaceutical, FMCG, logistics, supply chain, food & drink, or machinery manufacturing sectors are encouraged to apply. If you\'ve worked on capital equipment, production lines, or bespoke machinery, your experience is highly relevant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mechanical and process design of packaging and production lines
  • Supplier selection, tender analysis, and cost control
  • Site installation, commissioning, and performance trials
  • Compliance with CDM, PUWER, and Machinery Directive legislation
Candidate Profile
  • Background in mechanical engineering (Degree, HNC, or HND)
  • Experience in project engineering, design engineering, or CapEx delivery
  • Proficient in 2D CAD (3D CAD desirable)
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Strong problem–solving, stakeholder engagement, and adaptability
