Job summary

Weatherford in East Leake, Loughborough, is hiring an experienced Production Engineer - Mechanical to support the Production Department. You will investigate manufacturing issues, implement process improvements and ensure product quality and reliability.

The role involves prototype manufacture, design documentation (BOMs, drawings, work instructions), and collaboration with design teams to refine products.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years relevant experience.
• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Proficient in CAD for design of precision assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture prototypes for new designs, including component procurement, assembly and test.
• Feed knowledge gained from prototype manufacture back to the design team.
• Provide design documentation (BOMs, drawings, work instructions) to support production.
• Assist Engineering in generating design documentation.
• Design and organise construction of jigs and fixtures.
• Identify and implement process improvements to improve quality and reduce lead-time and costs.
• Provide technical support for resolving process problems in assembly and test.
• Investigate corrective and preventative actions and recommend actions.
