Mechanical Pre-Con Manager

Based within 1 hour of Warrington-Halifax corridor (e.g., Warrington, Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds)

Are you an experienced mechanical professional with a passion for precision, leadership, and delivering winning solutions? My client is looking for a Mechanical Pre-Construction Manager to take the lead in shaping the success of high-value mechanical building services projects from initial enquiry through to handover.

As a Mechanical Pre-Construction Manager, you\'ll be responsible for the full front-end life-cycle of projects—whether they are fully designed schemes or clean-sheet concepts. Working closely with the Business Development Managers, Design Engineers, CAD Technicians, and external partners, you\'ll ensure every tender or proposal stands the best chance of success, both technically and commercially.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical projects from initial enquiry through to pre-construction handover.
• Take full commercial and estimating ownership of tenders and proposals.
• Review client tender documentation and develop compliant, efficient design solutions.
• Coordinate internal and external teams to support and deliver high-quality bids.
• Survey existing and proposed installations on-site; liaise with client teams and supply chain partners.
• Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Create comprehensive presentation documents including:
  • Mechanical designs and specifications
  • Equipment schedules
  • Cost plans and value engineering options
  • Project programmes
  • Health & Safety considerations
  • Assumptions and qualifications

• Proven experience managing HVAC projects in a pre-construction or estimating capacity.
• Deep understanding of the HVAC industry; knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems is a strong advantage.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple concurrent tenders.
• Strong commercial awareness and confidence in cost planning.
• Skilled in design coordination, client communication, and supplier engagement.
