We are recruiting for a Mechanical Pre-Construction Manager on behalf of a forward-thinking, approachable, and well-established building services contractor that specialises in high-quality design & build fit-out projects. With a project size ranging from £250k to £1M, and the capacity to deliver schemes up to £5M, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys early-stage client engagement and shaping projects from inception.

The company culture is open and progressive; there is no micromanagement, everyone is accessible (including senior leadership), and you will be trusted to work autonomously while being supported by an experienced in-house team.

The Role:

1. Act as the client’s technical advisor during pre-construction, helping shape the vision and advising on feasibility, specification, and rough costings.
2. Translate briefs into deliverable D&B solutions, typically for fast-paced 12-week fit-out projects.
3. Work closely with clients across commercial, education, and leisure sectors.
4. Collaborate with the in-house design and project delivery teams post-award.
5. Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, building trust through technical clarity and practical advice.
6. Participate in early-stage commercial planning to ensure margin protection and programme alignment.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Background in mechanical building services, with experience in pre-construction or estimating roles.
2. Strong technical knowledge of design & build fit-out projects.
3. Client-facing, commercially aware, and confident discussing feasibility and high-level costing.
4. Self-sufficient and proactive, capable of managing workload independently.
5. Ideally familiar with fast-track project timelines and working with a range of public and private clients.
