Job summary

Bilfinger UK, part of the Bilfinger Group, is seeking a Mechanical Package Manager for the PUMA project in Hull. You will be site-based, overseeing mechanical scopes from design coordination to installation and testing on a large-scale manufacturing site.

You will coordinate with civil, electrical and project teams to ensure on-time delivery, manage changes, and monitor vendor performance while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering large Mechanical Systems packages on site.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple disciplines and contractors.
• Strong focus on safety, quality and schedule compliance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure BUK HSE safety policies and procedures are implemented on site
• Manage the full Mechanical Systems package from design co-ordination to installation and testing
• Oversee the piping fabrication contract, working closely with commercial, planning and project controls team
• Management of change to scope
• Co-ordinate the mechanical scope with other engineering disciplines (civil, electrical) to prevent site clashes and ensure seamless integration
• Act as main point of contact for mechanical and piping contractors and monitoring ongoing vendor performance
• Provide technical support for task reviews as required
• Collaborate with project / construction managers, engineers, and site supervision to allow the planned works to be executed on time
• Review documentation and RAMS from vendors / subcontractors prior to commencement on site
• Liaise with the Work Pack Manager to ensure Installation Work Packs have been created and approved in a timely manner to allow activities to proceed on schedule
• Attend site meetings, reviews and handovers, support project close-out including O&M manuals, snagging systems, punchlists, QA and Safety Files.

Mitsubishi Chemicals UK are building a new production plant adjacent to their existing plant on Saltend Chemicals Park in Hull, named the PUMA project.

The Mechanical Package Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient delivery of mechanical scopes on site.

As the Mechanical Package Manager you will work closely with the construction and commercial team to ensure that the piping contractors deliver their scopes of work within budget and on schedule.

You will be site based in the PUMA project site office.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of a large-scale Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation and Electrical project ensuring the efficiency and safety of all construction activities taking place on site.

As a Mechanical Package Manager, your activities will include the following, but are not limited to:
