Mechanical Package Manager - Cambridge & Beaulieu

Would you like to join one of the UK's Best Big Companies as awarded by Best Companies? Murphy is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Package Manager to join our team at Cambridge and Beaulieu. This is a site-based role. The Mechanical Package Manager will assist with the construction of the Cambridge South Station and the Beaulieu Station project.

The project involves constructing a new four-platform railway station and infrastructure to connect Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, with destinations such as central London, Stansted Airport, Ely, and Birmingham.

What you will be doing

  • Manage and oversee the Mechanical, Public Health, and BMS packages from preconstruction to final handover.
  • Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project success.
  • Manage procurement and tender processes.
  • Review and affirm contractor proposals.
  • Ensure construction and installation teams adhere to schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate handover documentation to ensure project completion as per client and stakeholder requirements.
  • Organize teams pre, during, and post construction, including stakeholder and risk management.
  • Lead on budget and change management.

Who are we looking for

  • Experience in a similar Mechanical Package Manager role.
  • Experience with Network Rail is essential.
  • Experience with complex construction projects, especially station builds in the Rail Sector.
  • Knowledge of NEC Contracts.
  • Experience with installation and Public Health.
  • Leadership experience.
  • The role is site-based at Beaulieu Park Station & Cambridge South Station; willingness to travel between sites is required.
