Job description

Randstad is recruiting for a Mechanical Package Manager on the Devonport Royal Dockyard scheme for KierBAM JV in Plymouth. The role is inside IR35 and will be site-based.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all works are procured, planned, and carried out safely in accordance with project requirements and UK law.
  • Review designs with the design teams and client to ensure they are optimized for efficient and safe construction, fully compliant with standards and contract requirements.
  • Manage robust change control, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to the project management team for site progress and financial reporting.
  • Manage the successful completion of the project/area under control, meeting quality and commercial plans within agreed timescales and costs. Ensure design and installation meet internal and client specifications and statutory requirements.
  • Provide leadership within your area, setting clear expectations, offering guidance, and managing performance to maximize team performance and meet objectives.
  • Contribute to risk and opportunity identification, supporting the project team and managing mitigation or enhancement actions within your control.
  • Understand budgets and commercial priorities, making sound decisions based on clear criteria and managing your workload accordingly.
Requirements
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering or NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or above.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in sectors like Nuclear and Defence.
  • CSCS: Professionally qualified person (White Card) / Black Card (Managers Card).
  • Professional membership is advantageous but not essential.

Please note the start date is subject to obtaining a BPSS pass for the site, which can take up to 28 days.
