Job summary

Brown & Wills Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager to support a major build contractor on a North Yorkshire project. You will provide building services input, coordinate M&E subcontractors, manage design and technical submissions, and drive activity through to handover.

The role includes commissioning and OM manuals, coordinating utilities, PV, sprinklers, CCTV, and security packages, with a focus on proactive problem-solving and clear communication across all

Qualifications

• Qualified engineer with mechanical or electrical bias, at Project Engineer level or similar M&E coordinator/manager experience.
• Ability to coordinate both mechanical and electrical disciplines on a commercial build project.
• Strong communication skills across all levels and proactive issue spotting.

Responsibilities

Job description

An interesting opportunity has become available for a Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager to join a leading build main contractor, where you will provide building services support across a key project in the North Yorkshire area.

This is a long term contract position where will join an existing teams who you will support throughout the project delivery phase through to completion Oct / Nov 2027.

The main responsibilities are as follows;

• Provide key input into the design and technical specification aspects of the project.
• Manage the day-to-day coordination of building services subcontractors specific to your projects, including technical submissions, change in design and specification, whilst handling any queries or issues in a proactive manner.
• Review progress and attend meetings as required for works associated with both build and M&E sub-contractor.
• Co-ordinate between all associated services including; Utilities, Sprinklers, M&E installation, PV, Security, CCTV packages.
• Manage process through to client handover, including commissioning and OM manual documentation.

To be considered for this role you should fit the following criteria;

• You will be a qualified engineer from either a mechanical or electrical bias operating at Project Engineer level or have worked within a similar M & E coordinator / manager role for a build contractor.
• Have the capability and understanding to coordinator both mechanical and electrical disciplines within a commercial build project.
• You should be a strong communicator comfortable operating at all levels.
• Be a pro-active personality, holding the ability to spot issues before they become a problem.
• Strong IT skillset.
