Overview

OSI Electronics, UK is based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. From design, prototype and PCB assembly to volume box builds, we make electronic products for UK and overseas markets. Role Overview

Working within the Mechanical Assembly process team, assembling electro-mechanical sub-assemblies through to complete box build using a variety of small hand tools. To follow methods and sequence of operations in; cable assembly, electro-mechanical, unit assembly including soldering of cables and potting of PCBAs. Adhering to internal production process and workflow plans while reporting to the process supervisor.

Responsibilities

  1. Assembling electro-mechanical units while adhering to production documentation.
  2. Assembling cable assemblies including, cutting, stripping, tinning, crimping, and terminating.
  3. Using a variety of hand tools such as screwdrivers, cutters, nut runners, crimpers, and torque screwdrivers.
  4. Working within a flow line team at the flow line facility when required.
  5. Potting both PCBAs and Units using mixing and dispensing machine.
  6. PAT Testing multi-level chassis units.
  7. Working with Engineering using customer supplied documentation during NPI process.
  8. Learn and perform basic troubleshooting protocols and rework for non-conforming units.
  9. Ability to be flexible and handle priority changes as they occur.
  10. Meet expected daily production requirements.
  11. To carry out normal assembly tasks as required.

Qualifications

  1. Previous experience working within a manufacturing business is desirable.
  2. Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the use of hand tools including screwdrivers, wrenches, and heat guns, with good manual dexterity is required.
  3. Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in soldering cables and wires.
  4. Any previous experience of being IPC-A-610 certified is not critical but desirable.
  5. Thorough understanding of workmanship standards and quality control procedures including compliance for ESD.
