Mechanical & Manufacturing Technician

Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge working within the Faculty in one of the UKs top Universities? Do you want to provide manufacturing and technical support to world-leading research throughout the Faculty?

We are seeking a professional and proactive individual to join our technical team to support manufacturing and general activities within the Faculty of Biological Sciences.

You will provide manufacturing support for biomedical research laboratories, responsible for machining designs to close tolerances from various sources using your technical skills on manual manufacturing equipment.

Candidates should have completed a recognized mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, with relevant experience in an engineering environment. Skills in manual machining are essential. A good understanding of mechanical engineering principles, 3D software, design, and manufacturing is required. Experience with basic repair and maintenance of fabrication machines such as 3D printers and small tools is also necessary.
