The Role

Are you an experienced, reliable Mechanical Maintenance Tradesperson looking to join a well-established team?

As a team member, you'll bring mechanical and plumbing maintenance experience to ensure we meet the needs of our students and staff. Reporting to the Building Services Manager, you will respond to emergencies and proactively improve our facilities. Please note that shift work and one weekend day per month are required due to the role's nature.

Main Responsibilities
  • Report to the Building Services Supervisor/Estates Helpdesk on progress or completion of tasks, prioritizing as needed.
  • Complete mechanical maintenance activities, including responding to breakdowns and planned maintenance.
  • Be the point of contact for mechanical-related contracts.
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance inspections and related tasks.
  • Provide advice and guidance to less experienced staff when necessary.
  • Exchange information with internal and external contractors.
Ideal Candidate
  • Mechanical Qualification: Minimum Level 2 City & Guilds / NVQ.
  • Experience with BMS systems.
  • Good communication skills for engaging with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with standard IT packages, systems, and databases.
  • Experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Proactive in building relationships with colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and good time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and interpret guidelines.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
