Overview

Mechanical Maintenance Technician - c. 45k - days only - Doncaster. The position operates Monday to Friday, days only. Hours: typically 6am to 4pm. Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays. Pension: Company contributions min of 7% up to 10%. Extras: Employee assistance program, free parking, on a bus route, near to the train station. Environment: Heavy industrial, processing plant; this role would not suit someone who likes a spotless working environment. Future: Expanding business, excellent opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will work as part of a multi skilled team handling the day-to-day maintenance of all industrial plant and machinery.
  • To install and maintain new and existing equipment, whilst ensuring production is not interrupted.
  • Assist with carrying out hands on mechanical engineering routines, in accordance with the planned preventative maintenance programmes as well as emergency breakdowns.
  • Health and safety are paramount on this site and you will be expected to conduct risk assessments on all jobs before undertaking any work / tasks and comply with all health and safety procedures.
  • As part of the team, you will assist other mechanical / operational departments when required.
Requirements
  • Time served apprenticeship or recognised Mechanical Engineering certification/qualification.
  • Fabrication skills are essential as is previous experience within a process / factory environment.
  • Refrigeration experience would be advantageous.
  • Be able to work on own initiative and to take a proactive approach to problem solving and produce appropriate solutions to reduce disruption to working processes.
  • Calm and methodical approach to work and be able to work under pressure within time constraints.
