Job Description:

A large specialist organisation near Didcot, Oxford, is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the established team. The role involves providing technical support and assisting with building services and fabric maintenance.

Key duties include:

  • Mechanical maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and building services infrastructure.
  • Monitoring and testing duties as required by statutory authorities.
  • Problem solving and fault diagnosis on site services such as air conditioning, air handling units, piped gases, water systems, chilled water, refrigeration, etc.
  • Liaison and supervision of external contractors, service engineers, and suppliers, including technical audits.
  • Communication with various departments to safely carry out maintenance activities.
  • Preparation of safety risk assessments and method statements.
  • Participation in health and safety and quality assurance procedures.
  • Control of spares stock and identification of future spare requirements.
  • Supporting the Senior Maintenance Technician and assisting with planned maintenance.
  • Planning workload and resources, including MEWP if needed.
  • Undertaking non-maintenance duties, such as small projects.
  • Participation in 'on call' arrangements during commissioning and operation.

Experience in some of the following areas is desirable:

  • HVAC systems
  • Process & chilled water systems
  • LTHW/MTHW/Compressed air systems
  • Equipment controls and BMS
  • Quality control, work planning, and safe systems of work
  • HSE legislation

Benefits include:

  • Salary of £33,000 - £34,500
  • Working hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm
