Job Description:

A well-known food manufacturing company are looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on all mechanical aspects of their production equipment. The ideal candidate will have completed a mechanical maintenance apprenticeship or will have qualifications in mechanical engineering . Previous experience gained in a Food manufacturing environment is preferable.

The role:

  • Perform mechanical PPM and reactive maintenance on all production equipment
  • Carry out routine maintenance on machines fabricating replacement parts as necessary
  • Provide rapid response to breakdowns
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs
  • Maintain maintenance records
  • Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are adhered to on report any issues or near misses
  • Ensure legislative requirements are met
  • Take part in on-call rota including nights and weekends
  • Update management on project updates
  • Support continuous improvements requirements

What's required:

  • Educated to City & Guilds, BTec or NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering
  • Mechanical apprenticeship preferable
  • Food manufacturing experience is ideal
  • Experience of fabrication or industrial maintenance or installation
  • Must be physically fit, able to work on own and able to be part of the on call rota

  • Hours 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday + rota for out of hours and weekend on call.
