Role

Our Waste Water Recycling team have a great opportunity for you to join as our new Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This role is part of a forward-thinking team working on a variety of equipment and assets, providing opportunities to develop new skills beyond day-to-day activities. You’ll help ensure our treatment processes operate optimally to deliver work that enhances our region’s rivers.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively and reactively maintain mechanical assets onsite
  • Pumps, chemical dosing, gear boxes, high pressure systems, gas systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, valves, motors, generators, drive belts, conveyors, scrapers
  • Fabrication, lubrication and welding activities
  • Continuously improve the mechanical asset base
  • Complete lifting operations safely as per LOLER regs
  • Fault finding and diagnostics
  • Interpret and update mechanical drawings
  • Support the design and build of new processes
  • Owns site mechanical performance for the site
  • Monitor treatment processes using SCADA and respond to alarms
  • Proactively review asset health and availability on site
  • Ensure all relevant training, including mechanical and maintenance, is up to date
What you’ll bring to the role
  • NVQ level 3 Mechanical qualification
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Experience with process control systems and working knowledge of industrial mechanical installation standards
  • Familiarity with various IT systems used on the job
  • Sound diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Basic instrumentation skills are desirable; opportunity to upskill
