Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Limited in Caerphilly is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to own all mechanical maintenance on site and lead a small, hands-on team. The role offers autonomy, planning of work and direct involvement in ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently.

You'll bring an apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering with proven supervisory experience, plus a proactive, collaborative approach to Health & Safety and maintenance processes.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship completed.
• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering completed.
• Proven supervisory experience in a mechanical environment.
• Ability to lead and motivate a small hands-on team.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance and condition monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving to minimise downtime.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage mechanical maintenance on site.
• Lead a small hands-on maintenance team.
• Plan, allocate and supervise work to optimise equipment uptime.
• Drive improvements and provide technical guidance.

What You'll Do:

You'll take ownership of all mechanical maintenance activities on site, leading a small team and ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on supervisory role where you'll plan and allocate work, drive improvements, and provide technical guidance. You'll also liaise with contractors and suppliers, oversee maintenance schedules, and help shape processes in a role that offers real autonomy.

What You'll Bring:

• Completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong mechanical engineering skills with proven supervisory experience
• Ability to lead and motivate a small team while remaining hands-on
• Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance and condition-based monitoring
• Problem-solving ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and minimise downtime
• Familiarity with SAP and root cause analysis would be an advantage
