Your new company
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Manager to join higher education establishment in the Glasgow area.
Your new role
As the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, you will beresponsible for:

  • Leading and supporting mechanical maintenance teams across multiple campuses.
  • Plan and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring statutory compliance.
  • Manage contractors and ensure safe, high-quality service delivery.
  • Use CAFM and BMS systems to monitor performance and identify improvements.
  • Support budget planning and track operational spend.
  • Advise on technical issues, system upgrades, and energy-saving initiatives.
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to estates strategy and policy.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and mechanical regulations.
  • Represent the university in contractor negotiations and tender processes

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in HVAC, boilers, refrigeration, and general plumbing/maintenance.
  • HND or Degree in Building Services / Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and compliance regulations.
  • Experience managing teams and contractors in a 24/7 environment.
  • Skilled in CAFM, BMS, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
