Mechanical Maintenance Lead

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 DOE + Overtime Opportunities + Holidays + Pension + Benefits Package

Working Days: Monday to Friday, Days

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Lead for a well-established manufacturer renowned for its industry reputation. The company values its staff and invests in their development.

The ideal candidate will be a mechanical engineer or fitter with experience in maintenance and reliability programs, preferably with a background in heavy or industrial environments. Candidates should be time served, apprentice trained, or hold equivalent qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee all mechanical engineering activities related to plant, production, and projects.
  2. Develop and implement maintenance and reliability programs for the foundry.
  3. Schedule and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
  4. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  5. Manage budgets, spare parts inventory, and cost-saving initiatives.
  6. Work both on the shop floor and in the office, with a 60/40 split.
  7. Become the onsite Mechanical Technical Expert.
Candidate Requirements
  • Time served, apprentice trained, or equivalent mechanical background.
  • Experience in heavy/industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
