Job summary

Brett Martin in Northern Ireland is seeking an experienced maintenance engineer to perform planned maintenance, repairs and upgrades across our manufacturing plant. You will diagnose faults, install new equipment and contribute to continuous improvement to maximise uptime and product quality.

The role requires a recognised engineering apprenticeship (mechanical/mechatronic) with at least 2 years' post-qualification experience, and hands-on skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps and gearboxes.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanical/mechatronic engineer with an apprenticeship to HNC or equivalent level.
• Minimum 2 years' post-apprenticeship experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient in pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, vacuum systems and mechanical drives/gearboxes.

Responsibilities

• Report to Engineering Manager, Mechanical Team Leader and Senior Maintenance Technicians.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment through good housekeeping.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policy and statutory regulations as they change.
• Manage mechanical repairs and breakdowns to minimise downtime and disruption.
• Fault finding and continuous improvement across site focusing on root causes.
• Initiate and modify electrical/mechanical designs; diagnose, repair and test malfunctioning equipment.
• Install new plant and machinery.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on plant and machinery.
• Apply predictive maintenance techniques to support lean manufacturing.
