Job summary

Omnia Inclusive Employment Solutions Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to provide hands-on support in a busy manufacturing setting. The role focuses on maintaining equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and enabling production growth, with a late shift from 2pm to 11pm.

The successful candidate will carry out PPM, inspections, and support machine set-ups while using a CMMS to manage maintenance histories and asset data.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Mechanical Maintenance on production equipment.
• Experience with filling, labelling and packaging machinery desirable.
• Preventative maintenance skills and CMMS systems proficiency.
• Able to work late shift and on-site in Stockport.

Responsibilities

• Respond to production equipment issues, diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance, inspections and support machine set-ups and changeovers.
• Manage maintenance work orders, asset information, and maintenance histories using CMMS.
• Work with Production and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and OEE.
• Support spare parts management and continuous improvement while maintaining a safe environment.

Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to provide hands-on engineering support within a busy manufacturing environment. Working on the late shift, you will support equipment maintenance, production activities and maintenance administration, helping maximise machinery reliability, minimise downtime and improve manufacturing performance as the operation continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to production equipment issues, diagnose faults and carry out repairs within your level of competency to minimise manufacturing downtime.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM), routine inspections and support machine set‑ups, changeovers, commissioning and production trials.
• Manage maintenance work orders, asset information, maintenance histories and equipment documentation using MaintainX or a similar CMMS.
• Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime and enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Support spare parts management, asset lifecycle activities and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a safe, clean and compliant working environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Mechanical Maintenance on Production equipment.
• Experience with filling, labelling and packaging machinery highly desirable.
• Preventative maintenance skills.
• Strong systems skills using CMMS.

Location: Stockport

Contract - Limited (Outside IR35)

Pay Rate: £35 per hour (dependent on experience)

Late Shift: 2pm - 11pm

Full Time: Monday - Friday, with overtime available at Weekends.
