Job Description

Our client is a large manufacturing company which is experiencing real growth in the marketplace. They are looking for the services of an enthusiastic, self-motivated mechanical maintenance engineer based on the outskirts of Glasgow.
Monday to Thursday day-shift, hands-on factory floor maintenance work. Their wish list for the successful candidate would be as follows:

- Qualified to HNC/HND level or equivalent within a relevant Mechanical discipline or possessing equivalent experience to be able to diagnose faults, repair and fine tune mechanical equipment.

- Experience of working in a high-pressure manufacturing environment.

- Qualified to 17th Edition IET Electrical Regulations would be a bonus.

- Relevant experience with planned preventative maintenance on machinery such as steam boilers, compressors, pumps, valves, conveyors, weighing equipment, twist wrap machinery and bunch wrappers would also be beneficial.

- Also be able to demonstrate the ability to reactively 'fix' any breakdowns to ensure the production process continues as seamlessly as possible.

- Machine shop expertise.

- Demonstrable experience of driving equipment process improvements within a manufacturing environment.

- Hands-on engineer with a "can-do" attitude and a desire to understand and improve the manufacturing process.

You will be joining a small successful team of 2 x existing engineers and 2 x apprentice engineers - all reporting to the chief engineer.
