Job summary

Partner Services Scotland Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Factory Maintenance) to provide hands-on mechanical support across a high-volume production facility in Scotland. You will help maintain reliability, minimise downtime, and contribute to ongoing engineering improvements on steam systems, pumps, conveyors and weighing equipment.

The role requires an HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, plus 17th Edition IET Electrical Regulations and strong workshop

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 17th Edition IET Electrical Regulations qualification.
• Demonstrable experience with steam boilers, compressors, pumps, valves, conveyors and weighing equipment.
• Advanced workshop capability including turning, milling, drilling, tapping, helicoiling, pipefitting/plumbing, welding/fabrication/cutting.
• Proven track record delivering engineering improvements in a production setting.
• Strong practical mindset with proactive, solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct planned, reactive, and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement long-term solutions.
• Support continuous improvement and process optimisation.
• Maintain steam systems, compressors, pumps, valves, conveyors, weighing systems.
• Produce and repair components using workshop tools and fabrication equipment.
• Ensure work is safe and compliant with standards.
• Collaborate with production teams to reduce downtime and improve performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to planning.
