Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in the Essex (Halstead Area) region. The role focuses on fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance within a heavy industrial setting, with a day shift and strong team support.

Responsibilities include planned and reactive maintenance across plant and machinery, with emphasis on safety and reliability. Overtime on Saturdays and Sundays may apply with premium pay, and a supportive leadership structure offers development

Qualifications

Experience maintaining industrial machinery and plant equipment.
Proven fault-finding and repair experience.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
Engineering qualification at Level 3 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of industrial plant and machinery.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
Maintain and overhaul equipment including drive shafts, bearings, sprockets, chains and gearboxes.
Perform repairs and maintenance on hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, valves and hoses.
Apply structured fault‑finding techniques to identify and resolve equipment issues.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and performance.
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
