Job summary

A global manufacturing company in Birmingham is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to provide preventive maintenance and respond to breakdowns. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in medium to heavy industry, with at least 3 years of experience. Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance activities, supporting apprentices, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This is a days-based role with occasional shift cover required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in medium to heavy industrial maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to read mechanical and pneumatic drawings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee annealing processes and contractor coordination.
• Provide mechanical support for annealing equipment.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns.
