Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire

Salary: Initially cGBP33k neg dep exp + benefits, including generous salary reviews after training (to GBP36,500)

Our Tamworth-based client, an internationally recognized household name in leisure and entertainment with nearly 70 years of history, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This role is part of their ongoing strategic growth.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on rides to ensure safety, operational readiness, and optimal performance.

Core responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining high standards of workmanship and presentation of rides.
2. Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance, supporting ride reliability and working closely with Operations to implement remedial actions.
3. Conducting checks (daily, weekly, monthly) in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, and understanding ride manuals for maintenance requirements.
4. Collaborating with the Team Manager to source parts, ensuring value for money, and managing stock levels to minimize downtime.
5. Maintaining workshops and plantrooms, ensuring tools and equipment are inspected and records are up-to-date.
6. Monitoring work quality, addressing concerns through audits, and sharing best practices.
7. Improving communication within the team and promptly reporting safety-critical issues.
8. Adhering to PPE protocols and lock-off procedures.
9. Supporting and undertaking training as required, and utilizing the Ride Maintenance system (Mobaro) for reporting and trend analysis.

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Good fault diagnosis and repair skills.
• Training in Working at Heights, First Aid, H&S, and MEWP/telehandler is advantageous.
• Experience with maintenance systems and processes, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Ability to work safely at heights is essential.
