Job description

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Dudley

Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 (dependent on electrical knowledge)

Working Hours:

  1. Week 1: 6am - 3pm
  2. Week 2: 9am - 6pm
  3. 42.5 hours per week
The Company:

Following recent investment, the company has been taken over by a well-known corporation that has invested significantly in site improvements, including a £200,000 investment in new control panels and machinery such as a new compactor and shredding machine. They are seeking an experienced mechanical maintenance engineer who is proactive and capable of handling breakdowns independently. Welding skills (Mig) are desirable.

You will work alongside an electrical bias maintenance engineer, providing opportunities to upskill electrically and gain additional electrical qualifications.

Experience Required:
  • At least 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining special purpose plant machinery as an electrical or mechanical biased maintenance engineer
  • Strong mechanical skills: changing bearings, straps, belts, chains, moving machinery, stripping, fabricating
  • Experience with Mig welding is advantageous
  • Experience in FMCG, Food, Metals, Recycling, Automation, Foundry, Brick, Aerospace sectors
  • Commutable from Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Dudley
