Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Contract)

Contract: (Min. 2 months)

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a mechanical mindset? Join one of the world’s most respected manufacturing giants as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician in Skelmersdale.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Improving the reliability and performance of plant and production equipment
• Supporting production lines to optimise output and minimise defects
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Monitoring processes using SPC (Statistical Process Control)
• Analysing data to identify faults and recommend improvements
• Maintaining product delivery in line with quality and cost targets
• Upholding site-wide Health & Safety standards
• Coaching and supporting colleagues
• Building strong internal relationships and sharing best practices

What We’re Looking For:

• Apprentice trained or OND (or similar) in Mechanical Engineering
• Skilled in turning, milling, welding, and general workshop techniques
• Mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical fault-finding experience
• High-pressure air systems knowledge (a bonus, not a must)
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow SOPs
• Comfortable analysing data and working in a quality-driven environment
• Flexibility for occasional shift work if needed

Working Hours:

• Monday – Thursday: 7:50am – 4:45pm
• Friday: 7:50am – 12:10pm
