Job description

Elevation Recruitment Group is partnering with a bespoke manufacturer to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Sheffield.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and improving plant machinery, including CNC equipment, through planned and breakdown maintenance.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, and 8am-4pm.

Key duties include:

• Adhering to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures
• Providing first-line maintenance and breakdown support
• Executing planned preventative maintenance
• Implementing lean practices to reduce waste and improve efficiency
• Leading, coaching, and developing team members
• Driving continuous improvement, innovation, and proactive work practices
• Ensuring correct booking of parts used

Candidate requirements:

• Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, apprentice-trained, or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with hydraulic control systems
• Proven mechanical experience in a medium to heavy manufacturing environment
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of continuous improvement programs, especially planned maintenance
• Experience working with CNC machinery is preferable
