Job description

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a manufacturer based in Selby to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

Hours: 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday

Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for carrying out planned, predictive, and reactive mechanical maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency of all machinery.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform planned, predictive, and reactive mechanical maintenance promptly
• Attend breakdowns, fault finding, and conduct rectifications of faults
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PM), diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components
• Conduct Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) and greasing schedules
• Participate in testing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes and infrastructure
• Collaborate with contractors/vendor service teams for specialized tasks
• Support the implementation of a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Work towards a zero-breakdown and zero-stop mentality

• Apprentice-trained or relevant mechanical engineering qualifications
• Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards

• Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions, including outdoors and in production areas
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to interact at all organizational levels
• Availability to be on call out of hours on a rota system
