About The Role

LKAB is looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to ensure high standards of operational efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the plant realises its full potential in safety and quality, increasing uptime, and reducing machinery breakdowns. You will work alongside the performance manager and maintenance supervisor to identify maintenance priorities, fault find, and use predictive maintenance methods to maximize plant operation.

You will support both planned and reactive maintenance work, plant improvements, and projects across various machinery and equipment, ensuring accurate logs and records are maintained.

About The Team

Based onsite at Runcorn, working alongside the Maintenance Supervisor, Performance Manager, and Engineering team.

Responsibilities and Key Work Tasks
  • Perform a full range of engineering and maintenance duties for the entire site, diagnosing and resolving faults
  • Use predictive maintenance methods and knowledge of machinery to maximize uptime
  • Utilize CMMS system to record maintenance and breakdown activities
  • Proactively maintain, develop, and implement site improvement processes or projects to enhance safety, efficiency, and performance
  • Schedule work, resources, time, and order parts within the maintenance budget
  • Execute work in compliance with Health and Safety, Company, and Industry Standards and Regulations, ensuring operational excellence, quality, and safety, using Safe Systems of Work
  • Support local contractor management, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety Standards
Candidate Requirements
  • Time-served apprentice
  • BTEC National/NVQ or equivalent
  • IOSH qualification preferred
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Methods and Root Cause Analysis advantageous
  • Experience maintaining medium to heavy plant (e.g., screening, crushing, milling, dust extraction, mixers, conveyors, pneumatic blowers) with basic skills in machining, welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • IT Skills, particularly Microsoft Office
