Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Plumber – Reading, Berkshire

An exciting opportunity to work for an established FM service provider located in Reading, Berkshire. We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Plumber to join a commercial site near Reading. The ideal candidate will be mechanically qualified (C&G or NVQ) with a solid understanding of building services.

The role is suitable for recently qualified individuals eager to expand their knowledge and practical skills. The company offers a competitive salary, overtime, and the opportunity to work at a unique and interesting site.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Building Management Systems & Electrical Monitoring
  • Service HVAC Systems, including Humidifiers
  • Maintain Air Handling Units, Air Conditioning, & Chillers
  • Knowledge of VAV & FCU Systems
  • Manage Domestic Water Services & Plumbing
  • Operate Pumps, Motors & Variable Speed Drives
  • Maintain Gas Boilers and Hot Water Calorifiers
  • Handle Pumps, Motors, Seals, Bearings
  • Water Treatment
  • Perform general plumbing tasks such as unblocking toilets and replacing taps
  • Monitor BMS systems
  • Maintain general building fabric
Hours & Salary:
  • Up to £40,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week
  • Shift times: 07:00–16:00, 08:00–17:00, or 09:00–18:00
  • 23 days annual leave
  • Overtime available
  • Call out 1 in 4, £105 per week
Requirements:
  • Mechanical / Plumbing qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2)
  • Proof of trade certificates
  • Experience in commercial building maintenance
  • Pressure Systems Certification of Competencies
  • Legionella Awareness (L8 ACOP)
  • Multi-skilled with good communication skills
  • Additional qualifications (e.g., Electrical, Air Conditioning) are desirable but not essential
