Job description

We are proud to be partnering with a global leader in the sustainable manufacturing sector, known for innovation, circular economy initiatives, and cutting-edge technology.

With a state-of-the-art facility based in Poole, they are now looking to grow their Engineering & Maintenance Team with the addition of a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

As a key member of the Engineering team, youll be responsible for maintaining and optimising a variety of production equipment including thermoformers, extruders, print machines, enrobing machines, compressors, and HVAC systems.

Youll work a rotating Panama shift pattern, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems and production equipment.

- Diagnose mechanical faults, perform repairs, and reduce equipment downtime.

- Service and maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, and more.

- Assist with installations, commissioning, and upgrades of machinery.

- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and hygiene standards.

- Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

- Collaborate with production, tooling, and other departments to identify and resolve engineering issues.

What Were Looking For Essential:

- Recognised mechanical qualification (City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent).

- Proven engineering background within a manufacturing or process environment.

- Experience with PPM systems and fault-finding across a broad range of mechanical equipment.

- Good knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, gearboxes, HVAC, etc.

Desirable:

- Welding and fabrication experience.

- Abrasive wheels certification.

- Familiarity with fire alarm systems and weekly test routines.
