Job Description:

We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a global leader in the design and manufacture of bespoke products for the offshore harsh environment industry.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the team based in Hoddesdon.

In this hands-on role, you will support all manufacturing functions on site, undertaking both planned and reactive maintenance of production machinery. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and Supervisor to improve machinery performance and uptime, contributing directly to the company’s overall operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out first-line repair and support for a range of production machinery.
  • Undertake both planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log and close out work orders.
  • Assist in maintaining the fabric of the building and site services.
  • Identify and lead improvement projects across the site.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (LEAN).
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Team to identify potential equipment issues.
  • Ensure all work is completed to quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • Recognised mechanical qualification (BTEC, City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Proven experience within an industrial environment.
  • Experience of manufacturing components to tight tolerances using Lath and Milling Machines.
  • Strong mechanical fitting, fabrication/welding, and general workshop skills.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • A proactive, flexible attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to support call-out cover with reasonable notice.
  • A salary of up to £45,000 dependent on knowledge and experience
