Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the team in London. The role focuses on identifying and managing risks to client equipment, implementing preventative maintenance, and fault finding across heavy industrial machinery and cranes.

You will support health and safety, write risk assessments and permits, and ensure documentation meets rules and legislation while coordinating with Site Services on building services issues.

Qualifications

  • Recognised or time-served apprenticeship.
  • Strong proven experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Mechanical qualifications to City & Guilds standard.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage risks to the client through the equipment on site and update drawings.
  • Maintain production environment using new equipment and PM program.
  • Fault find on all types of machinery.
  • Support Health and Safety within the department.
  • Provide mechanical expertise on heavy industrial machines and cranes.
  • Write and follow risk assessments and permits.
  • Complete documentation as required by rules and legislation.
  • Work on motors, gearboxes, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems.
  • Use CAFM maintenance system and mobile devices to log and plan works.
  • Coordinate with Site Services on building services issues.
  • Be the on-site responsible person and work overtime as required.
  • Perform adhoc duties as needed.

Job description

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Maintenance Technician to join the team located in London.

Primary Objectives and Tasks:
  • Identify and manage the risks to the client through the equipment on site, including updating drawings, identifying critical spares, improving performance of machinery, improving and implementing the preventative maintenance program
  • Using new equipment and technologies to maintain a working production environment liaising with the client on any requests for certain machinery PPM's
  • Fault finding on all types of Machinery
  • Support others in the department in relation to Health and Safety
  • Provide Mechanical expertise to the Maintenance Department working on Heavy Industrial Machines and Overhead Cranes
  • Write and follow Risk Assessments and be available to question any issues which arise from them safely and accurately
  • Complete the required documentation as specified with requirements of all rules & legislation
  • Work on Motors, Gearboxes, Valves encompassing Hydraulic, Pneumatic & Electrical Systems
  • Use Mobile Devices to accurately project & complete any works from CAFM Maintenance System
  • Use of emailing / calendars to plan your daily work requirements so that all tasks are completed effortlessly and efficiently.
  • Liaise with onsite Site Services to manage any Building Services related issues, responding confidently and accurately as required
  • To be the responsible person on site.
  • To work overtime as and when the business requires, this may include nights and weekends to which notice may not always be given and be on call rota.
  • Perform adhoc duties as and when required
Core Competencies:
  • A Recognised or Time Served Apprenticeship
  • Strong proven experience in manufacturing maintenance
  • Mechanical Competences / Qualifications to an acceptable standard to City and Guild's Mechanical
  • Good multi skilled ability
  • Hydraulic / Pneumatic Experience
  • Ability to fault find
  • PLC Diagnostics / Repair Competencies
  • NVQ Qualifications to Level 2, Electrical and Mechanical
  • Ability to supervise contractors
  • Able to write Risk and Method Statements
  • Able to understand and write Permits
Desirable
  • Working at Height Qualification
  • IPAF / PASMA
