Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to join the Eastbourne site supporting heavy industrial machinery and cranes. You will diagnose faults, maintain electrical and mechanical systems, and drive a safe, compliant maintenance program.

You will have an apprenticeship or time-served background, strong multi-skill capability, and experience with 3-phase systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and PLCs, working in a demanding production environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised or time-served apprenticeship in engineering.
• Strong experience in manufacturing maintenance.
• Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds 236 Pt 1-2, 17th Edition).
• Mechanical qualifications to standard (City & Guilds).
• NVQ Level 2 in Electrical and Mechanical.
• Experience with 3-phase motors, drives and inverters.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
• Ability to fault find and diagnose PLC issues.
• Able to supervise contractors and write risk/method statements.
• Understand and write permits.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage risks to the client through on-site equipment, update drawings, identify spares and improve maintenance programs.
• Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a working production environment; liaise with the client on machine PPM requests.
• Fault finding on all types of machinery.
• Support colleagues in Health and Safety matters.
• Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance department for heavy industrial machinery and overhead cranes.
• Write and follow risk assessments and address issues safely and accurately.
• Complete documentation as required by rules and legislation.
• Work on 3-phase systems up to 440V.
• Work on motors, gearboxes, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems.
• Use mobile devices to project and complete works from CAFM system.
• Plan daily work using email/calendar; liaise with Site Services for building services issues.
• Be the responsible person when required and deputise the Shift Leader during absence.
• Work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends.
• Perform ad hoc duties as required.

Role Summary

• Identifyand manage the risks to the client through the equipment on site, including updating drawings,identifyingcritical spares, improving performance of machinery,improvingand implementing the preventative maintenance program

• Liaise with onsite Site Services to manage any Building Services related issues, responding confidently and accurately asrequired

• To work overtime as and when the businessrequires, this may include nights and weekends to which notice may not always be given

Experience Required

• A Recognised or Time Served Apprenticeship


• Strong proven experience in manufacturing maintenance


• Electrical Competences / Qualifications to a minimum or equivalent to City and Guilds 236 Pt 1-2 Electrical qualifications to 17th Edition


• Mechanical Competences / Qualifications to an acceptable standard to City and Guild’s Mechanical


• Good multi skilled ability


• Experience working on 3 phase motors,drivesand inverters


• Hydraulic / Pneumatic Experience
