Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off Days & Nights
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in Suffolk. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment to ensure maximum operational efficiency. Key duties include conducting routine inspections, diagnosing faults, performing preventative maintenance, and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime. Experience with machinery, mechanical systems, and relevant safety regulations is essential. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently are required.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing of mechanical equipment and systems
· Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across machinery and systems
· Carry out preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability of equipment
· Collaborate with the maintenance team to implement continuous improvement initiatives
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs conducted
· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times
· Respond quickly to breakdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring production continuity
· Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required
Qualifications:
· Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3)
· Experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally within an industrial environment
· Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components
· Proficient in using maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment
