Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Doncaster

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts (Days & Nights)

Salary: £50,000

An established organisation operating across multiple sectors within the food and environmental services supply chain is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineerto join their team at a key processing facility in Doncaster. With a strong UK presence, this business provides essential manufacturing and service solutions to a wide range of end markets, including renewable energy, agriculture, food production, and industrial applications.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Carrying out day-to-day maintenance on plant equipment and machinery

  • Installing and maintaining new and existing mechanical systems with minimal disruption to production

  • Completing preventative maintenance routines (PPM) to reduce breakdowns and ensure operational efficiency

  • Conducting risk assessments and following health and safety procedures at all times

  • Keeping job sheets and maintenance logs up to date

  • Maintaining a clean and safe working area after each task

  • Supporting other mechanical or operational teams across the site as required

What we’re looking for:
  • A time-served apprenticeship or formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Solid fabrication skills (essential)

  • Engineering experience in a process or factory environment

  • Experience with refrigeration systems is desirable but not essential

  • A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills

  • Calm and methodical approach, particularly when working under pressure or to deadlines

  • Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
