Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Glasgow
£41,052 (Including shift allowance) plus overtime (£45,000+ achievable with O/T)
4 on – 4 off shift pattern covering days and nights
Marley is a division of Marshalls plc, a leading UK supplier of hard landscaping, building, and roofing products.

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. The role involves maintaining the site’s operational efficiency and ensuring continuous production.

The Glasgow site supplies Scotland and Northern England. This position offers the opportunity to contribute your ideas and grow your career with Marley.

Role overview: Working within a skilled engineering team, your main responsibilities include ensuring the smooth operation of production by fault finding and maintaining equipment safely and logically.

You will handle various engineering tasks, focusing on proactive maintenance to prevent equipment failure. Your work will involve hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, with both planned and reactive activities.

Working 39 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off rotation, you will enjoy a good work-life balance and have the opportunity for overtime to boost earnings.

Required skills:

• Good knowledge of mechanical engineering
• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience with mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics is advantageous
• Fabrication and welding experience beneficial
• Team-oriented with attention to detail
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Experience in fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance
• Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
