Job description

Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £49,000 per annum + overtime (paid at x1.5 & x2.0) and benefits
Hours: Wed-Sun (Wed, Thurs: 6am-6pm / Friday-Saturday: 6pm-6am)
Location: Commutable from Doncaster, Throne, Scunthorpe, Gainsborough, Goole, Selby, Howden, Pontefract and surrounding areas

A heavy plant manufacturing company who offer challenging and rewarding careers to their Maintenance Engineers, scope for further training and qualifications, as well as development of skills and future progression. It is a sizeable team with over 20 Engineers. They try and keep all engineering works in-house, minimising the need and use of external contractors, so you really do get involved in a range of reactive, proactive and project work.

Responsibilities

Your role will be to focus on Mechanical Maintenance in the factory, including:

1. Supporting various equipment and machinery across their factory, dealing with and overcoming problems in a fast-paced environment.
2. Working through a planned preventative maintenance program as well as project and continuous improvement work.
3. Participating in future planned projects involving upgrades and refurbishments that all Engineers get a hand in doing.
4. Reactive maintenance, working at pace attending to and resolving breakdowns swiftly and getting production lines back up and running again.
5. Dealing with belts, bearings, motors, gears, pumps, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
6. Any workshop skills will come in handy, ideally MIG welding.

Requirements

1. Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or hold Mechanical Engineering qualifications.
2. Experience with mechanical maintenance or mechanical fitting work, within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment.
3. Machinery maintenance experience.
4. Any experience of belts, chains, bearings, pumps, motors, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics would be desirable.
5. Any MIG welding experience would be desirable, along with any machining experience too but not essential.
6. Heavy manufacturing background desirable but not required.
7. Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in.
8. Friendly and adaptable working attitude.
