Job summary

Leonardo Helicopters in Yeovil is seeking a Mechanical Instructor to deliver engaging training for aircraft mechanical systems. You will act as a subject matter expert, develop and maintain training materials, and assess learner competence to ensure safety and compliance.

The role requires strong aviation maintenance background, the ability to explain complex concepts clearly, and a collaborative approach to align with engineering and program teams. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in aircraft mechanical maintenance, ideally within rotary-wing aviation.
• Strong technical knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems and maintenance practices.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging classroom and practical mechanical training to Leonardo and customer personnel.
• Develop, review, and maintain technical training materials in line with current aircraft documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Assess learner competence through practical and theoretical assessments, providing constructive feedback and support.
• Ensure all training is delivered safely, effectively, and in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and programme teams to ensure training reflects current aircraft configurations and maintenance practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Training Academy, identifying opportunities to enhance training quality and learner experience.
