Are you a mechanically biased Field Service, Installation Engineer or Mechanical Fitter with experience installing industrial machinery or capital equipment?
We are recruiting on behalf of an established engineering business with a strong order book and growing pipeline of installation projects.
As part of this continued growth, they are looking to recruit multiple Mechanical Installation & Service Engineers to strengthen their existing field-based installation and aftermarket team.
These are hands-on positions predominantly focused on the installation of machinery and equipment at customer sites throughout the UK and internationally.
Approximately 80% of the role will involve installation work, with the remaining 20% covering aftermarket, service and maintenance activities.
For engineers who enjoys site-based work, travelling and seeing projects through from installation to completion, this offers excellent earning potential alongside opportunities to progress into a supervisory or more senior engineering position.
Working as part of a close-knit engineering team, you will be involved in the mechanical installation of machinery and equipment at customer sites.
Typical responsibilities will include:
This is a genuine field-based role, so applicants must be comfortable with regular travel and extended periods working away from home.
Projects can take place throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide.
Some installations may require engineers to work away for approximately 3 weeks at a time before returning home.
Larger installation projects can run for three to four months, potentially involving several separate trips to the customer site during the course of the project.
Flexibility around travel, early starts and changing project requirements is therefore essential.
Experience installing material handling equipment, conveyors, production machinery, packaging equipment, processing equipment, automated machinery or other capital equipment would be particularly relevant.
The following would be advantageous but are not essential as training can be provided:
The business currently has a strong workload and healthy project pipeline, providing good long-term stability for the successful engineer.
There is also genuine scope for progression, particularly for someone interested in developing into a Lead Engineer, Supervisor or more senior field-based position.
This position would suit someone who is reliable, trustworthy, self-motivated and a strong team player, and who genuinely enjoys hands-on engineering, travelling and working on machinery installations.
