Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a practical Engineer / Installer to join a growing specialist team delivering environmental and civil engineering projects across the UK. The role combines workshop prep in Buckfastleigh with hands-on installation on sites nationwide.

You will install mechanical and fabricated components, use hand and power tools, and work away from home with occasional UK-wide travel. Full training, mentoring, and clear progression toward supervisory roles are provided.

Qualifications

• Engineering/technical qualification relevant to the role.
• Good practical and hand-tool skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to commute to Buckfastleigh when not on site.
• Flexibility to travel and stay away during the working week.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble and load equipment in the workshop.
• Carry out mechanical installation work on sites across the UK.
• Use hand and power tools, undertake drilling, anchoring, basic pipework and small concrete/formwork tasks.
• Support site mobilisation and demobilisation.
• Maintain tools, equipment and stock.
• Work safely to site procedures and quality standards.
• Regular overnight stays and staying away from home are essential.

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a practical Engineer / Installer to join a growing specialist engineering business delivering unique environmental and civil engineering projects across the UK.

This varied role combines workshop-based preparation in Buckfastleigh with hands-on installation work on sites nationwide. Working as part of a small team, you will install specialist mechanical and fabricated components, with full training and development available.
