Job summary

Meritus Talent is seeking a Mechanical Inspector in Bolton to join a defence manufacturing client. You will certify products, inspect assemblies, finishes and for defects, and maintain comprehensive QC records.

A skilled apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 or an HNC is required, and IPC 610 certification is preferred. This role involves ensuring compliance with procedures and a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Must have formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 or HNC.
• IPC 610 certification or training preferred.
• Evidence of skilled apprenticeship background required.

Responsibilities

• Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure.
• Examine for correct assembly and finish; detect faulty finishing or painting, surface deterioration.
• Inspect for physical damage and monitor product certification operators.
• Check and complete all paperwork related to the manufacturing data pack.
• Control defect items via segregation from good product and raise defect reports.
• Produce inspection/quality control documentation/history sheets.
• Use specialised inspection tools and maintain certification through audits.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures and maintain a safe, clean working environment.

Salary: GBP26 - GBP29.02 per hour

MERITUS are recruiting for a Mechanical Inspector to join our sovereign defence manufacturing client as they continue growing into the back end of this year.PLEASE NOTE:You must come from a skilled apprenticeship background and be able to evidence certifications.

MUST COME FROM SKILLED APPRENTICESHIP BACKGROUND

• Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure
• Examining for correct assembly
• Examining the finish of all parts to detect faulty finishing or painting, deterioration of surfaces etc.
• Inspect for physical damage
• Monitor product certification operators
• Check and complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack
• Control defect items via segregation from good product
• Raise and maintain relevant data records/defect reports
• Produce relevant inspection/quality control documentation/history sheets
• Care for and use specialised inspection tools
• Maintain product certification and approval via regular audits
• Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process
• Ensure inspection times are met
• Possess a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a range of tasks
• Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality
• Maintain a safe working environment
• Maintain a good housekeeping policy
• Willing to contribute to an environment of process improvement.

Skillset/experience required:

• Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21or HNC
• Several years' experience as a skilled person
• IPC 610 certified / trained preferred.
